The Tunisian government plans to cancel the investment permits, by the end of 2022, to present interesting offers for investors in strategic sectors and to develop the legislative and institutional systems for the development of startups.
According to the document (70 pages) of “Monitoring the implementation of the reform programme”, released on Friday night by the Prime Ministry, Tunisia plans to make available to investors additional benefits to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
The State also plans to revise the exchange code, to conclude pacts of competitiveness in the sectors of textile, pharmaceutical industries and automotive components, to adopt new pacts in other sectors and a legislative framework incentive for the development of logistics services.
The government is also working to revise the specifications adopted, to develop the governance of regulatory structures and committees for the allocation of licenses and benefits to facilitate market access and promote the Tunisian site through the implementation of investment programmes in strategic sectors.
It works to establish a unified digital process for investors and to digitalise the services related to the guide and the digital platform of the investor and to network them with the relevant platforms.
The government has, so far, completed the development of a second list of 25 removed permits and complete the inventory of 200 specifications of economic activities, in addition to the launch of the digital platform “market access”, since February 2022.
In the field of investment, the government has identified 39 reform measures relating to improving competitiveness and investment, the presentation of interesting offers to attract promising investments and relocation in addition to the launch of the digital guide of the investor, in early 2022.
The programme, whose outlines were unveiled in the document “Monitoring the implementation of the reform program”, “is the result of a work of several experts and over 400 executives of the administration, which work was initiated since last November, as part of a participatory approach to bring Tunisia out of its economic and financial crisis,” said Prime Minister Najla Bouden, during the government meeting held Friday afternoon at Dar Dhiafa in Carthage.
