Remada military airport to become civil airport

The Remada military airport will soon become a civil airport, Secretary of State to the Transport Ministry Sarra Rejeb announced on Tuesday.

Studies revealed that this operation will cost some 22 million Tunisia dinars.

The liberalisation of Tunisia skies, under negotiation with the European Union, will help boost Tunisian air transport notably domestic flights, she added during a plenary session devoted for the approval of Tunisia’s accession to the Montreal Convention.

The Open Sky Agreement concerns all Tunisian airports apart from the Tunis Carthage International Airport.

Rejeb further affirmed that Tunisair will maintain the price of the Carthage/Tozeur-Nefta flight, evoking the structural issues in several Tunisian airports (defaults occurring in the fleet, flight irregularities and their impact).
