The Socialist Party considers that the transitional provisions contained in the latest presidential decree No. 117, announced and published Wednesday in the Official Gazette are contrary to the spirit and content of the Constitution of 2014, recalling that the President of the Republic had sworn in to respect and protect the Constitution.
The party stressed, Friday, in a statement, that the failure of the policies of Ennahda and its allies, in power for over ten years, can not be replaced by another political system in which the President of the Republic monopolize all powers, without any control, especially after the abolition of the Interim Constitutional Review of draft laws.
For the SP, this regime will destroy what remains of the institutions of the state and pave the way for the establishment of a new dictatorship.
He added: “To claim that the purpose of the transitional arrangements is to establish a democratic political system that guarantees freedoms and democracy, establishes the sovereignty of the people and blocks the road to corruption, is utopian.
“To build a real democracy, the texts must be clear and translated into practical decisions in the interest of the country and the people.
The Socialist Party invited the democratic and social parties, national organisations and independent personalities to set up a “republican force” with the collaboration of the civil society, independent and progressive, to save the country from any drift and despotism, to guarantee the sovereignty of the people and to preserve the national sovereignty and the independence of the national decision.
