Review of Tunisian-Greek co-operation

Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui received, Monday in Tunis, Greek Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs Georges Katrougalos, who is making a working visit to Tunisia.

The talk focused on the development of the Tunisian-Greek relations and the upcoming bilateral events, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Quoted in the statement, the minister stressed the importance of hoisting relations between the two countries to higher levels both bilaterally and multilaterally.

He stressed the need to prepare at best the eleventh session of the Tunisian-Greek joint commission scheduled for the end of 2018 in Athens, saying it is “a favorable opportunity for prospecting new avenues for co-operation between the two friendly countries at all levels”.

The minister also called for increased exchanges of visits between officials of both countries and stepping up political consultations on issues of common interest.

For his part, the Greek Alternate Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s desire to diversify co-operation, particularly at the political level.

He announced that a mission of Greek businessmen will visit Tunisia next April, wishing it will be an opportunity to create a Tunisian-Greek business council and organise an economic partnership day.

The meeting was attended by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Sabri Bachtobji and Ambassador of Greece in Tunis Teresa Paraskevi Angelatou.
