President Kais Saied on Wednesday evening offered his most sincere wishes to the Tunisian people and the entire Islamic nation, “praying the Almighty for many happy and prosperous returns.”
In an address on the occasion delivered from the Al-Zaytuna Mosque, the Head of State underlined that the month of Ramadan is an ideal opportunity and a privileged moment that everyone should seize to purge themselves of incivilities, notably, recourse to price hikes and speculation.
He urged the Tunisian people to massively boycott anyone who deliberately takes advantage of the bad economic situation to raise prices excessively.
“Our noble religion is based on the principles and values of mutual aid, altruism, fraternity, solidarity and mercy towards the poor and needy,” he stressed.
“No need to remind you that Islam is based on the values of justice and equity,” the President insisted, calling on the wealthy to lend a hand to the needy during this sacred month.
Saïed seized the occasion, to reaffirm the State’s commitment to wage a merciless battle against corruption.
