(TAP)-President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed on Saturday called for cutting the banks’ interest rate so that a share of it would go to the national community. Receiving Tunisia’s Professional Union of Banks and Financial Institutions (APTBEF) President Mohamed Agerbi, along with two members of the association Mouna Said and Hichem Rebai, the Head of State voiced consideration for the patriotism of the banking sector and financial institutions’ stakeholders, calling on them to exert further efforts during this exceptional period the country is going through and to stand by the Tunisian people.

Saied affirmed that there is no place in today’s Tunisia for injustice, extortion or confiscation of money, pointing out that rights are preserved under the law.
