President Kais Saied on Friday had talks in Brussels with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi.
They reaffirmed on the occasion, the solidity of the long-standing relations of fraternity and cooperation binding the two countries.
The two presidents pointed out their commitment to further consecrate the tradition of dialogue and consultation to give a strong impetus to the privileged relations between the two countries in service of the two brotherly peoples’ interests.
The meeting helped discuss bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest as well as subjects on the agenda of the 6th European Union-Africa Union Summit, currently held in Brussels.
Besides, Saied had a meeting with Austria’s Chancelor Karl Nehammer during which emphasis was laid on fostering bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, trade and health fields.
After reviewing the reasons behind the announcement of the exceptional measures, the Head of State spoke about the upcoming events in Tunisia in 2022, while underlining commitment to guaranteeing rights and freedoms and to democratic values and the independence of the judiciary.
He asserted in another connection, that Tunisia supports Austria’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council and extended an invitation to the Chancellor to visit Tunisia.
Nehammer indicated that his country is closely following the situation in Tunisia and is ready to provide all possible support, affirming his country’s willingness to foster economic relations with Tunisia and endeavour to iron out all the difficulties facing the Austrian enterprises set up in Tunisia.
Moreover, Saied had a set of talks on the fringes of this summit with French President Emmanuel Macron, President of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohamed Al-Menfi, Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, Cote D’Ivoire’s President Alassane Ouattara and Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.
These talks turned notably on the need for new practical visions likely to step up Europe’s role in the achievement of peace, stability and development in Africa.
The President of the Republic on Thursday had a meeting with Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum, who pointed out willingness to foster bilateral relations and develop partnership projects in the two peoples’ service.
