“School Art”, campus for young volunteers to create artistic and cultural discovery trail in CCIH

The Environmental Education Association of Hammamet (AERE) will organise on August 6-15 a campus for young volunteers to create an artistic and cultural discovery trail at the Hammamet International Cultural Centre (CCIH).

This campus will be held as part of the project co-ordinated by AERE; in partnership with the Young Theatrical Association of Hammamet (JAT) and the International Cultural Centre.

It also comes as part of the Tfanen-Tunisie Creative (Tfanen- Creative Tunisia) project funded by the European Union and under the Cultural Affairs Ministry’s PACT (Support Programme for the Culture Sector in Tunisia) project, in partnership with the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) and implemented by the British Council.

This campus, a multidisciplinary workshop that will bring together ten students and young professionals from different regions and active in the arts, architecture, landscape planning, design, museography fields for ten days, is set to be launched on August 6.

Participants in this campus will be called to develop a comprehensive reflection on the CCIH’s location, share ideas and experiences and develop a layout plan of an artistic and cultural discovery path inserted into the logic of rehabilitation and valorisation of the area while respecting the spirit and authenticity of the location.

Developing a technical file and a reference document for the implementation of the project during the construction, scheduled by AERE for the end of August, is the key output expected from this campus.

Proposals for the campus will be presented by the participants during a public restitution session to be held on august 15 in CCIH, in the presence of representative of the local community, local associations, municipality and technical and financial partners.

This campus is part of the School Art project funded by the EU, the events of which will take place in the International Cultural Centre and schools in Hammamet.

Its main goal is to promote equal access to arts and culture in the peri-urban area of Hammamet by adopting a systematic comprehensive approach to education: arts, culture and civic, environmental and citizenship educations… An education of art by art.
