According to ghana news agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, the event has drawn over 100 academicians from various institutions, including the University of Nigeria Nsukka, reflecting its growing influence and commitment to addressing global development challenges through academic research. The conference aims to explore the progress and contributions of African businesses and other stakeholders towards the 2030 Agenda. Professor Issaka Kanton Osumanu, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of SDD-UBIDS, highlighted the university's role in fostering development-focused research in Ghana and across Africa. "As an institution committed to excellence in higher education, we are proud to facilitate discussions that will enhance sustainable development in the academic and broader community," Osumanu stated. The conference has shown significant growth since its inception in 2021, evolving from 40 participants to 104 in 2024. Professor Frederick Dayuor, the Director of Research at SDD-UBIDS, pointed out the critical role of S ustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in guiding global efforts to overcome various challenges. He noted the conference's role in reviewing the effectiveness of these efforts since their implementation. "We have received 180 abstracts this year, with 81 being accepted for presentation after a rigorous double-blind review," added Professor Dayuor, underlining the quality and relevance of the research being showcased. The SDD-UBIDS has also been active in enhancing its research framework, developing comprehensive policies on research, innovation, data protection, intellectual property, and guidelines for credible publication and submission of grants and consultancy proposals to strengthen its academic and research capabilities.
