Security situation in border, south-western areas discussed during Caid Essebsi/Zbidi talk

President Beji Caid Essebsi met on Wednesday with Defence Minister Abdelkrim Zbidi.

The meeting helped review the security situation in the country, mainly in border, south-western areas and western heights, Zbidi was quoted as saying in a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.

The meeting further turned on military co-operation with several brotherly and friendly countries and works of the 32nd Tunisian-U.S. Joint Military Commission due early May in Tunis, the same source added.

The latest preparations of the military institution in order to ensure the smooth running of the municipal elections (May 6) in co-ordination with the security institution were also discussed during this meeting.
