Fifteen people died of the coronavirus during the last 24 hours in Sfax. This takes fatality numbers to 1,456 since the outbreak, according to a report published by the Local Health Directorate Wednesday.

Another 141 people in the region tested positive for the virus, among 537 tested, with a positivity rate of 26.25%. This brings the case tally to 49,090, including 45,577 recoveries.

Sfax currently has 232 patients admitted to the Hédi Chaker Hospital and 56 others in private clinics in the region. These include 28 patients in intensive care.

Some 346,182 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered since the start of the jab drive in the governorate.
