SG of ASSECAA Praises Achievements of This Parliamentary Federation under Morocco’s Presidency

Indeed, Morocco chairs the ASSECAA which was born in Rabat in 2002 in the person of speaker of the House of Advisors, Naama Mayara. Speaking at the opening of the 11th Congress of ASSECAA, organized by the House of Advisors under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Yusuf Ali said that this event is part of the activities of this federation based on a common vision about socio-economic development and openness to other similar parliamentary institutions in the world.

He stressed that this congress is an opportunity to exchange views on the next action plan of the ASSECAA in the face of major challenges in the Arab and African regions, including those caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

This congress is proposed as a forum for reflection on many issues of common interest, among others, climate change, food security, conflict resolution and reconciliation, added the SG of ASSECAA, urging other Arab and African countries not affiliated to join this parliamentary federation that represents a framework for joint action.

The official also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Morocco for the organization of this congress, the first to be held in person since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
