The “Biotech 4.0 Centre” is a new centre for Industry 4.0 competence that will be launched soon by the management company of Sidi Thabet Biotechnology Park.
The centre is designed to speed up the digital transition of small- and medium-sized enterprises operating in the pharmaceutical, parapharmaceutical industries and health technologies in Tunisia, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) said on Thursday.
The centre will support companies in their transition to industry 4.0 so as to improve their performance and speed up their development. It fits within the national initiative “Towards an Industry 4.0” launched by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy with the financial support of the European Union and in partnership with GIZ Tunisia, the German agency said.
The initiative was launched in 2018 in a bid to put Tunisia on track towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Sidi Thabet Biotech Park is a technopark dedicated to biotechnologies, pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical industries, life sciences and engineering for the health industry.
It endeavours to consolidate Partnership-based approaches between the three key players of innovation, namely: enterprises, research/development establishments and training bodies.
