Sixteen people who intended to cross illegally to Europe were arrested in Mahdia on Monday, the Interior Ministry said.

The individuals, aged 15 to 51, were apprehended in a farm. They admitted they had struck a deal with two migrant smugglers in a bid to reach Italian coasts.
