Small cabinet meeting on Modernisation of Tunisian Commercial Ports

The review of the Enfidha deepwater port project’s progress and the institutional and legal solutions to speed up its implementation were at the centre of a small cabinet meeting held on Tuesday afternoon, a statement of the Prime Ministry reads.

In this connection, the meeting agreed on the establishment of a ministerial supervision commission to monitor the various stages of the project, which should hold its first meetings at the end of January 2018 to review the results of the update of the economic study of the project, the statement specifies.

The small cabinet meeting also decided on the principle of the establishment of the platforms 8 and 9 in the Rades port to relieve the pressure and improve performance since the maximum capacity reached by the port cannot respond to the development of the port operations and modernisation of the country’s maritime transport and foreign trade.
