The social-economic situation in the country and efforts to counter monoploy and speculation practices, notably during the month of Ramadan, took centre stage during a meeting held Wednesday between President Kais Saied and Prime Minister Najla Bouden.
The meeting was attended by ministers of Interior and of Trade Kamel Fekih and Kalthoum Ben Rjeb, respectively.
The Head of State pointed out on the occasion, the need to supply the market with foodstuffs and products and to counter speculation and monopolistic practices with vigour and firmness, reads a Presidency of the Republic press release.
He called in this regard, all stakeholders to fully shoulder their responsibility to prevent profiteers from further abusing the Tunisian people.
Saied also called on the citizens to massively boycott those who use the occasion of the month of Ramadan to excessively increase prices, urging them to help each other in the spirit of Islamic values and precepts.
