Some 45 Tunisian SMEs to benefit from AmCham Tunisia Export Lab project

Some 45 small- and medium-sized Tunisian enterprises will benefit from the AmCham Tunisia Export Lab project, launched by the American Chamber of Commerce in Tunisia (AmCham) by means of 500 million Tunisian dinars.

This new programme was the focus of a meeting held at the headquarters of the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) attended by young investors and entrepreneurs, during which AmCham Vice-President Rim Ayari presented data on this project, pointing out that it will offer the necessary coaching and monitoring to these enterprises.

The 18-month project will help and coach the 45 Tunisian SMEs to export their products and services to the United States of America. It targets mainly three sectors: Agribusiness, new technologies and handicrafts with the highest priority to young entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses.

Besides, selected companies will participate in a training programme provided by local and international experts in order to implement a business strategy for export to the American market, taking into account legal procedures, market intelligence, and technical specifications, as well as certification which will facilitate access to the American market such as USDA Organic, ECO CERT, ISO, FSMA, etc.

The main goal of this project is to create jobs and increase and diversify exports of Tunisian SMEs towards the U.S. market.

It will provide a set of highly effective coaching sessions including business incubation, knowledge and market intelligence services to help increase and diversify the exports of the 45 Tunisian SMEs to the U.S. Market.
