Twenty-two cultural operators from the Southern Mediterranean region are meeting in Tunis as part of a Mobility and Capacity Building session, an activity programmed within the framework of the SouthMed CV project.

The five-day event, which started on Tuesday, is organised by two partners of the consortium, BAC Art Centre and Interarts about the theme: ” Culture as factor of development in the Southern Mediterranean region.”

The gathering is attended by the representatives of the 2nd Call 22 sub-granted projects to be implemented in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia, to present their projects and strengthen synergies for further development of culture across the Southern Mediterranean region.

Capacity Building activities for implementing the sub-granted projects between February 2017 and January 2018 are also on the agenda.

SouthMed CV is co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the regional programme Med Culture.

Launched on April 1st, 2015, for the 2015-2018 period, SouthMed CV aims to bring culture from the margins to the centre of the public sphere in the Southern Mediterranean, exploring its potential connections with economic, social and political development strategies.
