Spokesperson for unemployed graduates Besma Rezgani called on the President of the Republic to reconsider his decision on the non-application of law No. 38 and find a fair solution to unemployed graduates as soon as possible.
Speaking at a press conference held Wednesday morning at the headquarters of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT), Rezgani said that Law No. 38 was adopted after a series of demands, protests and strikes made over two consecutive years.
Rezgana spoke of the repercussions of the non-application of Law No. 38 on social peace and the possibilities of esclatating peaceful protest such as rallies and wild hunger strikes to sort out their situation.
“The recruitment in community companies recommended by the President of the Republic is an illusory solution in the absence of prosecutions against businessmen involved in corruption cases and the creation of projects in the regions,” she added.
After the press conference, unemployed graduates went to the headquarters of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) and chanted slogans calling for the application of Law No. 38 and their right to employment.
