Sports for all: Prime Ministry hosts one of first sessions for public officials

The Prime Ministry has hosted one of the first sports sessions for the benefit of a large number of its officials and civil servants, under the supervision of the Tunisian federation of sports for all.

This initiative is part of the strategy to disseminate the culture of sports practice in the administrative environment.

A study presented on Monday had shown that “A little more than 83 % of Tunisians do not practice any physical activity”, underlining the negative impact of inactivity which is the 4th cause of morbidity according to the World Health Organisation.

This was on the occasion of a study day organised by the National Observatory of Sport (ONS) in partnership with the National Institute of Statistics (INS) and the Ministry of Youth and Sport, devoted to the presentation of the results of a national survey on physical and sports practices among Tunisians.

For his part, the Minister of Youth and Sport emphasised the importance of setting up a national plan with the help of the various parties concerned to improve future indicators linked to the practice of sport and to improve the health and well-being of society, particularly the vulnerable categories.
