Stimulate Tunisian industry’s competitiveness through development of Clusters

A new technical co-operation project “Project to stimulate the competitiveness of Tunisian industries through the development of clusters” is being formulated jointly by the Industry and Trade Ministry and the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA).

The objective of the project, which is scheduled to start in May 2018, is to step up the competitiveness of the Tunisian economy, according to the JICA quarterly newsletter (July-August-September 2017) in its fifth issue on Monday.

It is a project to support the emergence of a network of innovative companies or clusters in priority industrial sectors for Tunisia. This support will be provided through the intervention of Japanese experts and through training, internships and material donation, where appropriate.

Field studies will be conducted to identify areas for improvement in the selected industries and trainings will be given to those responsible for providing the necessary support to companies and clusters as well as to those responsible for implementing the project and those in charge of running these networks of companies to develop, says the same source.

The beneficiaries of this project will be the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Tunisian enterprises, but also public support structures, especially those at the regional level.
