Supreme Judicial Council: Plenary assembly to elect new president postponed to March 21
The plenary assembly of the Supreme Judicial Council (French: CSM), initially set for Friday to elect a new president, was postponed to next March 21 in the absence of a quorum.
“This is pursuant to Article 36 of the law 2016-34,” the CSM Friday said in a press release. The Council shall meet when convened by its president or at the request of two thirds of its members.
In the absence of a quorum, a second meeting is called within three days at least and ten days at the latest provided half the members are present.
Interim President of the council Hatem Ben Khelifa stepped down on Monday.
