Takoradi: Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Member of Parliament for the Takoradi constituency, has distributed startup kits to 700 local artisans as part of an initiative to support entrepreneurship and economic growth in the region. According to Ghana News Agency, the initiative, called the 'Kobby Youth Investment Initiative,' is designed to equip 6,000 young people with productive assets, enabling them to generate income and build wealth. The beneficiaries of the startup kits include both master artisans and apprentices looking to expand their businesses. During the handing over ceremony, Mr. Darko-Mensah, who also serves as the Western Regional Minister, emphasized the anticipated positive impact on the local economy, noting that th e initiative would enhance productivity and competitiveness among artisans. He highlighted the importance of offering business development services and funding to young entrepreneurs to aid their growth and success. The initiative is part of his broader commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and job creation within the constituency. Mr. Darko-Mensah expressed his dedication to unlocking the potential of local entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary tools and resources.
