TAP news agency awarded first prize at Kelma Lihom 2 competition

Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency journalist Mounira Rabii, on Thursday, received the 1st prize of the competition “Kelma Lihom 2” (voice is theirs) in the written press category and for her article entitled “Syrian Refugees in Tunisia: Chronicle of Suffering”.

Launched at the initiative of the Arab Institute for Human Rights (AIHR), in association with the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), this year’s prize dedicated to the refugee issue in Tunisia was presented at a ceremony held at the headquarters of AIHR.

The second prize in the same category was awarded jointly to Neila Hammi and Kamel Ferchichi.

Regarding the Radio Press category, the first prize went to Arafet Thib.

As for the television category, only a second prize was awarded to journalist Makrem Kasraoui. The jury has decided not to award a first prize because the works presented have been classified off topic.

The jury is made up of international media expert Maher Abderahman, SNJT executive committee member Faouzia Ghiloufi and refugee lawyer Imen Bjaoui.

The first edition of the competition was dedicated last year to the issue of working-class neighborhoods in Tunisia.
