“TASDIR +” programme provides financial support to 120 enterprises and 17 consortia in 1st quarter of 2017

The Competitiveness and Export Development Support Fund, known as “TASDIR +,” granted an overall budget of 20 million dinars to 103 enterprises, 17 consortia and 17 start-ups in the 1st quarter of 2017, benefiting from an overall premium of 10 million dinars (MD), i.e. an average premium of 88.404 thousand dinars per selected enterprise, the exports promotion centre (CEPEX) said.

The second call for applications, launched on January 16, 2017, to receive funding under this programme, attracted 488 applications (409 enterprises, 52 start-ups and 25 business groups or associations) and to pre-select, according to operational and financial criteria, 273 files.

As of 31/07/2017, 209 shortlisted files were diagnosed and led to the selection of 137 files, 115 of which were approved by the programme’s steering committee for an overall premium of over 12 MD.

In sum, the two calls for candidates helped retain a total of 832 candidates (figures as of 31/07/2017), 252 of which were validated by the steering committee with a total amount of premiums granted worth 22 MD, that is more than 40% of the programme’s budget in line with initial forecasts.

According to the CEPEX, Tunisian enterprises benefiting of this programme tend to move towards unconventional markets like those in sub-Saharan Africa. There is also a remarkable commitment on the part of service companies to join this programme and several success stories.

The Competitiveness and Export Development Support Fund has an overall budget of USD 23.5 million to finance the ‘TASDIR +’ programme. This programme seeks to improve competitiveness and develop and diversify the exports of Tunisian enterprises.
