Tataouine: construction works of gypsum plant start

Construction work on a gypsum production plant has just started in Ezzahra in the Tataouine-North delegation. The plant will have to go into operation at the beginning of 2020.

The 30-million-dinar plant will produce, in a first step, 300 tons of gypsum per day, and hire 70 executives and agents.

Four gypsum mining concessions previously granted were abandoned by the Ministry of Industry because of the delay in implementation.

The Tataouine region has the largest gypsum deposit in Tunisia. It is ranked 4th in the world in this area.
