Tataouine: Oil companies announce opening of recruitment competitions

Oil companies based in Tataouine announced Monday the opening of competitions for the recruitment of new officers and executives. This initiative comes as part of the implementation of the decisions taken by the government on June 15 and which put an end to the sit-in in El Kamour.

Among these companies, the Italian-Tunisian Company of Petroleum Exploitation (SITEP) which plans to recruit 70 people, the company of Development of Exploitation of the Permit of the South (SODEPS) which proposes to integrate 10 individuals (workers and executives) as well as the Tunisian Company of Petroleum Activities (ETAP) which intends to hire some 20 people. The deadline for submission of applications is July 21, 2017.

The 100 new jobs created constitute the first group of the programme of recruitment of 500 people by the oil companies in Tataouine before the end of 2017.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Regional Labour Union (URT) in Tataouine said it was very surprised by the conditions of application required by some companies including professional experience while the majority of graduates in the region have been unemployed for Years.
