Tataouine: Training Workshop on Mixed Migration

The Arab Institute for Human Rights (AIHR) is organising, on March 27 and 28, 2018, in partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, a training workshop on mixed migration, with a focus on associations.

The agenda includes practical sessions on refugee protection in the context of mixed migration and a conference on the international legal framework on mixed migration (concepts and legal mechanisms).

The South AIHR Executive Director, Mustapha Abdelkebir, presented examples of rescue operations at sea, as well as reception and care of migrants. He highlighted the contribution of Tunisian civil society in welcoming hundreds of thousands of migrants of various nationalities from Libya in 2011, and the establishment by the government of a strategy to cope with to waves of refugees.

Participate in this workshop representatives of humanitarian organisations such as the Red Crescent and specialised associations active in the six southern governorates (Gafsa, Tozeur, Kebili, Gabes, Medenine and Tataouine).
