Tounes Al-Irada reaffirms total support to ISIE’s independence and neutrality

Tounes Al-Irada movement reaffirmed on Thursday its total support to the independence and neutrality of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE), facing the pressures exerted by the ruling coalition on the authority and its attempts to control it.

The movement denounced the attempts of some forces to postpone the municipal elections in order to destabilise the authority and impede its proper functioning.

In this regard, Tounes Al-Irada called the ISIE to save the legislative by-elections in Germany and guarantee the organisation of the municipal elections on time in a climate of transparency and integrity.

The movement also urged the ISIE president and members to restore cohesion within the authority and the confidence of Tunisians in it and also to affirm its independence and integrity facing the delaying tactics and plots aimed to jeopardise its unity and sustainability, in compliance with the Constitution provisions.
