Tourism figures in the governorate of Jendouba saw a remarkable improvement in the last eleven days of July, given the rise of the number of visitors which went up by 97.2% and overnight stays (+84.6%) compared to the same period of 2021.
The region also recorded a significant increase in the number of arrivals by 115.6%, until July 31, 2022 compared to the same period of 2021, said local tourism delegate in Tabarka and Ain Drahem (Jendouba governorate) Aissa Marouani.
In a statement to TAP, he said hotels in the region have welcomed 39,736 tourists, from June 1 to July 31, against 18,427 during the same period of 2021.
The tourist destination of Tabarka-Ain Draham has posted a rise in total overnight stays by 105% compared with the previous year, to 90,478 against 44,146.
The regional official said local hotels hosted 25,328 tourists in July against 10583, during the same period of 2021, up 139.9%.
Regarding overnight stays, the total number in the region has reached 62,004 against 28,554 during the same period of 2021, up 117.1%.
The official also said the number of visitors has reached 98525 tourists from the beginning of the year, until July 31, against 62916 visitors in 2021, or an increase of 56.6%.
The total number of overnight stays in the tourist destination of Tabarka and Ain Draham has reached 199,441, against 124,441 during the same period of 2021 or an increase of 60.6%.
The governorate of Jendouba has 24 hotel units with an overall capacity of 4321 beds.
