Tourist arrivals in Nabeul edge up 26%

Tourist arrivals in the governorate of Nabeul increased significantly from January 1 to October 20 compared to the same period in 2016, Regional Tourism Commissioner Ezzedine Grami said Wednesday.

734,000 tourists visited Nabeul and Hammamet up to October against 580,000 during the same period last year, i.e. a 26% rise, he told TAP. The number of bednights stood at 3.202 million, up 36% from last year.

The local market kept the top spot with 386,000 visitors against 336,000 in 2016 (+14%) followed by Algeria with over 100,000 tourists against 63,000 last year (+68%).

Grami also said 41,000 French tourists visited Tunisia in 2017 in comparison with 20,000 last year (+100%), while the number of German tourists grew 37% to 31,000.
