Trade Between Tunisia and Spain Poised for Growth, Says Spanish Ambassador

Accra:Trade relations between Tunisia and Spain are set to expand significantly in the coming years, as per Spain's Ambassador to Tunisia, Isidro Antonio Gonzalez Afonso. He noted that Spain, currently Tunisia's fourth-largest trading partner in Europe, could see its trade figures with Tunisia double if the current trends persist.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, Ambassador Gonzalez highlighted the increasing presence of Spanish companies in Tunisia, particularly within the tourism, agriculture, and renewable energy sectors. This new dynamic in economic relations is driven by a growing interest from Spanish firms in the Tunisian market.

The ambassador emphasized Tunisia's attractiveness as a market, with cooperation and investment opportunities in various promising sectors. Spain's expertise in tourism, backed by major hotel groups, positions it well for investment in Tunisia. He also noted that this cooperation could enhance air travel links, thereby boosting tourist flows between the two nations.

A project between the Tunisian and Spanish governments aims to increase airport slots for airlines, enhancing connectivity. The arrival of major Spanish tourism groups is expected to draw other operators, including travel agencies and airlines, potentially increasing the number of visitors to Tunisia. This development would attract tourists not only from Spain but also from other European countries and globally.
