Trade union reiterates call for dialogue and affirms its activism to defend economic and social rights

The administrative commission of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) reiterated at the end of its works on Monday in Kerkennah, the attachment of the trade union centre to all the values that have marked the trade union course, including the defence of the economic and social rights of employees. Deputy Secretary General of the UGTT Samir Cheffi said in a statement to the media that the trade union centre calls for social dialogue to solve problems but all forms of militancy available including the right to strike will be applied in case of non-implementation of the agreements. Cheffi expressed the wish to re-establish a serious and transparent dialogue between the government and the social parties, recalling that in the absence of dialogue, the trade union centre will not delay in defending its members.
