Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened the week with a decline, registering at 14,333.66 points, which marks a decrease of 0.24% or 33.94 points.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 closed last week with a drop of 1.89%, ending at 14,367.60 points, and recorded a daily transaction volume of 169 billion liras, equivalent to $3.72 billion. The stock market will be closed on Tuesday to commemorate May 19, the Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth, and Sports Day, a significant national holiday in Trkiye.
As of 10.00 am local time (0700GMT), the exchange rates were noted at 45.5795 Turkish liras for the US dollar, 53.0415 for the euro, and 60.8730 for the British pound. Additionally, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,545.70, while Brent crude futures were trading at approximately $111 per barrel.
