Tunis to host General Assembly on French-language Books Around the World, September 23-24

The General Assembly on French-language Books Around the World will be held in the City of Culture in Tunis on September 23-24, at the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture.

The event is organised by l’Institut Français in Tunis in partnership with the Tunisian Culture Ministry, in addition to Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Quebec, the Swiss Confederation, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).

It will bring together between 200 and 300 book stakeholders from all over the world to discuss the problems of French-language books: Authors, publishers, distributors, booksellers, digital players, libraries, professional associations or unions, organisations or associations supporting books, institutions and professionals.

The event is organised in coordination with the Francophone Heads of State Summit scheduled for November 20-21 in Djerba. It aims to stimulate, integrate and develop the French-language editorial market and enable greater circulation of French-language works and authors among all French-speaking audiences.
