Tunisair: 24.4% increase of passenger traffic in March 2018

The traffic passenger edged up by 24.4% in Mars, compared with March 2017, Tunisair said on Tuesday.

According to the national carrier, the main indicators in March 2018 compared to March 2017 are as follows:

– All traffic activities increased from 242,818 to 301,978 passengers.

– Regular traffic rose by 23.6%, from 232,501 to 287,468 passengers.

– Additional traffic went up by 78.9% from 2,532 to 4,529 passengers.

The charter activity registered 9,981 passengers mainly from the Omra (small Haj) traffic.

The load factor is improving, from 75.3% in March 2017 to 77.2% in March 2018, thus up by 1.9 points.

As regards Tunisair’s main markets according to the geographical breakdown and in matters of regular traffic, the European countries, which accumulate a share of passenger traffic of 67.9%, recorded a 22.4% rise.

The African countries, which account for 16.2% of the passenger traffic recorded an increase of 27.4%.

Middle East countries, which passenger traffic rate is 14.9%, registered a rise of 24.8%.

North America (Montreal), which passenger traffic rate is 1.0%, recorded an increase of 38.8%.
