Tunisair agency reopens after 9 years of closure in Monastir

The national carrier company Tunisair agency in Monastir reopens after nine years of closure (2009), in anticipation of a promising tourist season.

The reopening of the agency will bring the service closer to citizens in the governorates of Monastir, Mahdia, Kairouan and other nearby regions, announced Tunisair CEO, Elyes Mankbi on the fringes of the agency’s inauguration ceremony.

Tunisair has developed a new strategy, within the framework of the open sky, which will focus on the airports of Monastir and Djerba-Zarzis to recover their attractiveness, explains Mankbi, indicating that the airport of Monastir hosts an average of 5 million visitors a year.

Tunisair commercial director-general Ali Miaoui pointed out that the company is endeavouring to develop its lines at domestic airports.

He recalled that since 2017, Tunisair has closed his agency at the Ennfidha airport after having transferred all his flights from Germany to Monastir airport where traffic should, according to him, increase by 30%.

The revitalisation of air traffic in Monastir has been accompanied by the reopening of five hotels in the region, specified Governor Akrem Sebri.
