The national carrier Tunisair announced Tuesday, that in accordance with the decision of the Tunisian authorities, all travellers to Tunisia, from tomorrow Wednesday, October 27, 2021, must present at check-in at the airport of departure, a certificate of negative RT-PCR test bearing a QR Code, whose date of completion does not exceed 72 hours at registration.
Children under 12 years of age are exempt from this measure. Any passenger to Tunisia who does not present a negative RT-PCR test at the airport of departure will be refused check-in.
For unvaccinated passengers or those who have not completed their vaccination schedule against the SARS-COV-2 virus, they must undergo mandatory lockdown for a period of seven days from the date of arrival in one of the confinement centres dedicated to this purpose, in the list shown on the following link https://www.ontt.tn/ar/blagh at the expense of the passenger.
They are also invited to perform an RT-PCR test during the last 24 hours of the mandatory lockdown period, provided that the test result is delivered on the seventh day of the mandatory lockdown. If this test is negative and at the end of the entire period of mandatory lockdown (7 days), exit from the mandatory lockdown centre will be allowed. In the case of a positive test, the passenger concerned will be transferred to the sanitary isolation centre for positive cases.
They must present at the check-in at the airport of departure, the reservation document and the confirmation of payment (voucher) which must include the transfer costs between the airport and the mandatory lockdown centre, the accommodation costs for seven days in the mandatory lockdown centre and the costs of the RT-PCR test to be performed during the last 24 hours of the mandatory lockdown. Otherwise, the passenger will be denied check-in.
Tunisair said that “are exempted from the mandatory lockdown, passengers who have completed the vaccination schedule against the SARS-COV-2 virus for at least 28 days for the JANSSEN vaccine and 14 days for other vaccines against the SARS-COV-2 virus, provided they present a certificate issued for this purpose.
This also concerns minors (under 18 years) unaccompanied or minors accompanying persons vaccinated against the SARS-COV-2 virus, with the obligation to comply with the self-lockdown of a period of 7 days, and diplomats accredited in Tunisia and members of their families residing in Tunisia, provided that they present at the time of registration, a verbal note from the Embassy or organisation concerned with all the necessary information or their residence cards in Tunisia in force with the obligation to comply with the self-lockdown of seven days for those who are not vaccinated or who have not completed their vaccination schedule against the SARS-COV-2 virus.
They are also exempted from the mandatory lockdown, the holders of a valid authorisation issued by the mandatory lockdown commission at the Ministry of Health.
Regarding the health form and the commitment form, the National Carrier has called on passengers to fill in the mandatory information requested on https://app.e7mi.tn and to present proof to the air carrier when checking in the flight, in digital or paper format.
In the case of the impossibility to access and fill this electronic form by some passengers due to technical difficulties related to the application, it is authorized to board the concerned passengers provided that the air carrier integrates the travel information of these passengers in the application E7mi.tn.
Finally, Tunisair has invited passengers to comply with the random rapid screening (TDR-Antigen) which will be conducted on a sample of passengers upon arrival. In case of a positive test, the passenger concerned will be transferred to a health isolation centre.
