Tunisair sees passenger traffic rise 16% in Q4 2017

National flag carrier “Tunisair” transported 772,108 people in the fourth quarter of 2017, up 16% compared to the same period of 2016, according to the company’s performance indicators.

The number of travelers would reach 3,502,475 in 2017, according to provisional indicators.

In a statement issued by the Tunis Stock Exchange, Tunisair added that transport revenues have risen by 35%, from 201.764 million dinars (MD) in the fourth quarter of 2016 to 272.587 MD in 2017.

The average fuel price per tonne increased by 33% in the fourth quarter of 2017 compared to the same period of 2016, reaching 64 MD.

Similarly, staff costs increased by 11% to 67 MD.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, Tunisair operated 28 aircraft, of which 21 are owned by the company and 7 are leased, knowing that the company’s market share is 42%.

“Tunisair” is listed on the main market of the Tunis Stock Exchange and its share is traded on the stock exchange at 0.400 Dinar.
