Tunisia Engages in China-Arab States Expo 2025 Opening in Yinchuan

Yinchuan: Tunisia participated in the opening of the China-Arab States Expo 2025, which kicked off on Friday in the city of Yinchuan, located in the northwestern part of the People's Republic of China, more than 2,000 km from the capital, Beijing. Officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in Beijing were present at the inauguration of the expo, which drew the attention of around 22 Arab countries and will run until August 31.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, Tunisia's official participation through its diplomatic mission comes at a time when prospects for cooperation between Tunisia and China are strengthening, with Chinese officials reiterating their support for partnership and economic cooperation with Arab countries, especially Tunisia. Tunisia was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China more than 60 years ago, underscoring the presence of opportunities and new horizons for cooperation between the two sides.

In their opening speeches at the expo in Yinchuan, Chinese officials emphasised their country's interest in importing olive oil, a commodity of which Tunisia is one of the world's largest producers and exporters. Chinese officials also renewed their aspiration to boost investment in Arab countries as part of efforts to expand partnerships with the Arab world, which opens up opportunities for Tunisia, particularly with its thriving tourism sector and attractive investment climate.

It is worth noting that fruitful cooperation between Tunisia and China has been strengthened in recent years at the bilateral, regional, and international levels. The China-Arab States Expo is being held for the seventh consecutive time, with the participation of Arab and international delegations and more than 100 exhibitors, with the United Arab Emirates honoured as the guest of this edition.

The expo attracts around 10,000 Chinese visitors daily and features major Chinese companies specialised in fields such as energy, robotics, construction, urban development, artificial intelligence, agriculture, and industry. The Chinese side hopes the expo will help further showcase available opportunities, diversify partnerships with Arab markets and enhance economic cooperation with Arab states.
