Tunisia forcefully denounces North Sinai terrorist mosque attack

Tunisia condemned a terrorist attack Friday on a mosque in north Sinai, Egypt, which killed dozens and injured many civilians.

Deeply saddened by the massive loss of life, Tunisia expresses its sympathy and offers compassion to the families of victims, reads a Foreign Ministry press release. Tunisia also stands in full solidarity with the Egyptian government confident as it is in the ability of the Egyptian people to defeat terrorism and preserve the country’s security and stability.

Tunisia also renewed its call upon the international community to quickly set in place efficient mechanisms to fight terrorism.

No less than 235 people were killed and 120 others sustained injuries when gunmen attacked during Friday prayers Al-Rawdah mosque in Bir al-Abed, west of El Arish, the main city in North Sinai.
