Tunisia-France: MoU in matters of prevention of radicalisation signed in Paris

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed Thursday in Paris between the National Commission on Combating Terrorism (CNLCT) and the French Interministerial Committee for the Prevention of Delinquency and Radicalisation (CIPDR). The MoU was signed by CNLCT President Hedi Mekni and CIPDR Secretary General Muriel Domenach.

The signing of the memorandum took place during the working visit to Paris on Thursday by CNLCT President at the invitation of the CIPDR Secretary General.

According to a communique of the Prime Ministry, released on Friday, the MoU aims “to establish the principles of cooperation between the two parties, as well as its areas and modalities”.

The two officials also chaired the first meeting of the joint committee between the CNLCT and the CIPDR.

This meeting, the statement said, has made it possible to plan joint activities for the coming year and to exchange views on the respective experiences of both countries in preventing radicalisation.

During his working visit to Paris, Hedi Mekni held talks with senior French officials, including the national intelligence and anti-terrorism coordination of the Elysee and the French Ministry of the Interior.
