Three large oxygen producing machines will be sent to Tunisia to strengthen the oxygen supply in public hospitals, Minister of Health Faouzi Mehdi said Monday.
This is a gift that will be provided during the visit by French Minister Jean Castex to Tunisia on June 2 and 3, he added.
Speaking at a hearing session with the Parliamentary Committee on Health and Social Affairs, Mehdi noted that these machines will be installed in hospitals in Sidi Bouzid, Tataouine and Sfax.
Upon success of the oxygen production experiment, other similar machines will be acquired in the framework of international cooperation with France, he said.
The Ministry of Health is working to increase oxygen supply in public hospitals in anticipation of a 4th wave of spread of coronavirus, which may cause the death of 4 thousand people, said the Minister.
