Tunisia and Rwanda will be the guests of honour of the 2018 edition of the Biennale of Contemporary African Art, DAK’ART, “for a demonstration of their contemporary artistic creativity,” reads the Biennial website to be placed this year under the slogan ” L’heure rouge “.

Borrowed from Martinique Aime Cesaire (1913-2008), “L’heure rouge” is an expression that speaks of emancipation, freedom and responsibility, extracted from the play ” Et les chiens se taisaient ” of this writer, poet, playwright , essayist and biographer, considered to be one of the fathers of the literary and political current of negritude, born during the interwar period.

Scheduled from May 3 to June 2, 2018 in the Senegalese capital Dakar, the DAK’ART Biennale will renew the experience of the previous edition and bring together 5 international curators.

Tunisian artist Ali Tnani is already on a list of 75 artists, representing 33 different countries, selected to participate in the international exhibition entitled “A New Humanity”.
