Tunisia has set carbon neutrality target in 2050, as part of its 2035 energy strategy

Tunisia’s 2035 energy strategy targeting carbon neutrality in 2050 was presented Wednesday evening at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Najla Bouden.
This strategy, devised through a participatory approach between all stakeholders, is mainly aimed at guaranteeing Tunisia a secure energy supply and implementing operational and adequate measures to achieve the goals set in the energy mix, notably, electricity production from renewables, according to a Prime Ministry press release.
The cabinet also examined the specific programmes on energy efficiency and sobriety through the revision of the organisational framework of energy efficiency and the interventions of the Energy Transition Fund (ETF).
They discussed the roadmap for the development of the green hydrogen and its derivatives production in Tunisia.
