Tunisia officially inscribed in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register for its experience in slavery abolition

Permanent ambassador-representative of Tunisia to UNESCO Ghazi Ghrairi received on Tuesday evening the official documents regarding the inscription of the Tunisian experience of slavery abolition from 1841 to 1846 in the UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register.

He announced, via his twitter account, that he had received the official certificate regarding the registration of the collection of archives on “the abolition of slavery in Tunisia 1841-1846” in the UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register in addition to other related documents from the Chief of the Universal Access and Preservation Section at the UNESCO.
