Tunis: Tunisia reaffirmed Wednesday its support for the Palestinian cause and rejected all measures aimed at altering the historical, legal, and demographic status of Al-Quds. Speaking during an Arab ministerial meeting in Amman, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Nafti, emphasized the city's exceptional spiritual, historical, and civilizational significance. According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, Nafti expressed that preserving the identity of Al-Quds, along with its Islamic and Christian holy sites, is a collective responsibility tied to ensuring the rights of the Palestinian people. He reiterated Tunisia's support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign state with Al-Quds as its capital. Nafti condemned unilateral measures, including settlement activity, forced displacement, demolition of homes, and violations of holy sites, as contrary to international law. He also highlighted the need to prote ct civilians in the Gaza Strip and to ensure sustainable access to humanitarian aid, urging for United Nations agencies to operate without hindrance. The foreign minister called for effective political and diplomatic actions to persuade the international community to end violations and enforce international resolutions. He reaffirmed Tunisia's support for Palestine's full membership in the United Nations and acknowledged the expansion of its international recognition. Nafti concluded by stating that Tunisia will continue to collaborate with Arab countries and international partners to defend Al-Quds and promote a just peace based on international law.
