Tunisia strongly condemns Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza

Tunisia expressed its strong condemnation of the cowardly Israeli aggression perpetrated on Friday against Palestinians in Gaza during the “Great Return March” organised on the occasion of the celebration of the 42nd anniversary of Land Day.

Tunisia calls on the international community to put an end to blatant Israeli aggression and Israel’s shameless crackdown on the Palestinian people, a flagrant violation of international resolutions, the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

Tunisia reaffirms full solidarity with the Palestinian Palestinian people, and resolutely supports the right of Palestinians to recover their legitimate rights, reads the same source.

In a march organised on Land Day on Friday, tens of thousands of Palestinian protesters, including women and children, converged on the border with Israel. They were peacefully demanding the “right of return” of Palestinian refugees and denouncing the blockade of Gaza.

Israeli occupation soldiers opened fire at the border, killing at least 16 people and 1,400 others injured among the protesters.
