Tunisia summons Turkish ambassador over Wajdi Ghanim’s statements

CONECT International urged a foreign exchange legislation overhaul with a view to helping Tunisian companies expand internationally. There is need for a total revamp, it emphasised.

“There are many obstacles confronting Tunisian economic operators investing abroad, including the large number of authorisations and contradictory and inconsistent forms to be filled in,” the international structure of the Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises Wednesday said in a press release.

An inextricable tangle of laws, decrees, circulars and provisions followed the January 1976 Foreign Trade and Exchange Code, it further said.

“Tunisian firms operating overseas often face obsolete and cumbersome procedures; the law in force does no longer meet current imperatives,” reads the press release.
