The Tunisian book registers its presence on the shelves of the 53rd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair organised on January 26-February 7 in Cairo, Egypt.
An official Tunisian delegation is taking part in the fair with a view to promoting the book and publishing sector in Tunisia.
Several national publishing houses are displaying their publications at the stand of the Union of Tunisian Publishers, which presents titles in arts, academic research, novels, children’s books and others.
A collection of books in various fields such as literature, heritage, religion and science are displayed in the official Tunisian stand. These publications are edited by several Tunisian publishing houses on behalf of public cultural institutions under the authority of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs (Tunis Translation Institute, Amvppc, INP, CNCI, CMAM, etc.).
The fair is hosting 1,063 publishers from 51 countries spread over the 900 stands.
Greece is the guest of honour of this event, which was created in 1969 and welcomes more than 2 million visitors every year.
This edition coincides with the celebration of the 2021-2022 year of Tunisian-Egyptian culture, launched by Presidents Kaïs Saïed and Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi.
